Drug Boxes from Pharmacy

Because of increased regulations and monitoring of controlled substances, Paramedics based under Mt. Graham can no longer check out a drug box from pharmacy unless they are on duty with an agency. Paramedics will not be able to get a bag for sporting events, scouting events, etc. unless each current situation has been approved by Dr. Hargis and the agreement will be based on a one-time only basis. Any former agreements will need to be reevaluated if the situation arises.

The reason for this is everyone's safety in maintaining their certification. Even though based under MGRMC Base Hospital, if the medic is not actively on duty with an agency there would be no legal way for them to administer drugs and also no way for them to chart and replace those drugs.
